Preventive Extractions for a Healthy Smile

Not every person needs to have their wisdom teeth extracted. However, it’s often recommended as a preventive measure to ensure that these final teeth that grow into the mouth don’t lead to future oral health issues, like crowding and cysts. The Wisdom Tooth Extraction Process

To remove erupted wisdom teeth, Dr. Ulloa will use two instruments: a pair of dental forceps and an elevator. The elevator will gently lift the wisdom teeth from their sockets, while the forceps will allow us to wiggle the teeth free of any connective tissues so we can remove them from the mouth. Depending on how many wisdom teeth you have, the extraction process can take anywhere from 20 to 90 minutes.
