Oral Conscious Sedation

Oral conscious sedation is administered in the form of a single pill that we will prescribe for you to take about an hour before your appointment. That way, the effects will be in full swing by the time you arrive at our office. Typically, the medication we prescribe is in the diazepam family, like Valium. Patients often note that it makes them feel groggy and sleepy, but you’ll remain conscious throughout the visit so we can check in on you.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Nitrous oxide is a fast-acting method of sedation that we will administer once you get settled in the treatment chair. It’s administered through a small nose mask that will allow you to effortlessly breathe in a mixture of oxygen and sedation. The effects take place nearly immediately and wear off quickly, allowing you to carry on with the remainder of your day as you typically would.
